Syllabus:Systematic review of care, standards of practice - accountability, advanced clinical decision-making, evidence based practice, change theory, clinical audits, diagnostic-related groups, clinical pathways, managed care and continuous quality improvement.
 
Unit Outcomes: On succesful completion of this unit students will be able to - Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care in the medical and surgical setting. Critically evaluate current practice in the health care system. Synthesise information about patient care practices. Review changes necessary for improvement of patient care.
