Syllabus:Literacy is the ability to use language to operate within one's society. The current focus on improving students' literacy standards in schools means that teachers require a reasonable grounding in functional and critical English skills to ensure that they are confident and competent to teach in primary schools. Aims to meet those needs.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Developed confidence in their ability to control and use conventions of English in different contexts appropriate to primary children. Developed positive self esteem and attitude to English literacy.
