Syllabus: | Introduction to computer communication. Physical layer. Data networks. Link level flow and error control. Network layer and Routing I and II. Transport layer I and II. Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM). Network performance and modeling and estimation. Application layer. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit students will have gained an introductory understanding of computer communications from the application layer all the way down to the physical layer. |
