Syllabus:An examination of geographical approaches to the study of strategic issues and to issues of international and intranational conflict. Consideration of both classical geopolitical approaches and more contemporary methods incorporating a wide range of international core studies.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will have - Gained an awareness of the major schools of thought in strategic geography. Undertaken core studies of international conflicts from a geopgraphical perspective. An awareness of cultural and environmental factors in conflict studies. Analysed geographic data from a strategic perspective.
