Syllabus:	Impact of global issues on nursing practice and health care delivery socio-environmental perspectives of health and illness. Changing demographics across the lifespan. Health and nursing implications of urban and rural living. Primary health care nursingat home, school, work. Applied research and epidemiology in nursing. Health promotion process and planning.
Unit Outcomes:	On successful completion of this unit students will have - Identified the impact of global issues on nursing and local health care delivery. Explained the links between health, the socio-ecological environment and nursing. Explored factors that influenceurban and rural health across the lifespan. Explored the nursing application of primary health care strategies to home, education and workplace. Identified principles of applied research in health and illeness. Developed a nursing health promotion strategy for a defined population group.
