Syllabus:	The development of skills in clinical classification of diseases and procedures using ICD-10-AM through enhanced understanding of the structure and conventions associated with ICD-10-AM nomenclature. Retrieval of relevant information from medical records. Medical and surgical terminology.
Unit Outcomes:	On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Displayed skills required in disease classification. Displayed an understanding of the structure and conventions of ICD-10-AM. Retrieved relevant information from clinical records for coding purposes. Exhibited an extended and reinforced understanding of medical and surgical terminology.
