Syllabus:Further examination of the effects of language disorder on the social, emotional and academic outcomes of disorders of semantic development, comprehension, language disorder in adolescent children and children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will have - Described and critically evaluated approaches to the assessment and treatment of disorders of semantic development in school aged children. Described and critically evaluated approaches to the assessment and treatment of disorders of comprehension in school aged children. Discussed evidence of language disorder in adolescence. Identified crucial issues in the evaluation and management of language disorder in children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Related findings from readings to professional practice and to theories of language.
