| Syllabus: | Develops information systems problem definition and analysis knowledge and skills through the use of data gathering and analysis techniques, including interviewing, questionnaires, stakeholder analysis, cognitive mapping, group behaviour and group support systems. |

| Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit students will have - Understood the importance of properly analysing a problem before trying to solve it. Knowledge of the close relationship between Information Systems development and organisational problem solving. Knowledge of various difficulties and obstacles to problem analysis, techniques for overcoming obstacles in problem analysis. Identified and analysed problems in an organisational context with emphasis on information needs and use. |
