Syllabus:Advanced level of assessment, treatment and sports specific rehabilitation for injuries, spinal and peripheral joints and associated muscle and soft tissue structures. Clinical experience in sports and soft tissue injury clinics, hospitals and private practice settings and sporting clubs in regular training and in competition. Recent developments in sports physiotherapy and sports medicine.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will have - Developed an advanced level of theoretical and clinical specialised competency in the assessment and management of sports specific injuries. Developed an advanced level of theoretical and clinical specialised competency in the prevention and management of sports injuries. Developed an advanced level of theoretical and clinical specialised competency in acute management of sports injuries. Demonstrated the ability to integrate clinical reasoning skills and current research findings with clinical examination. Demonstrated the ability to evaluate to the level of evidence for the efficacy of physiotherapy management approaches when treating various sports injuries.
