Syllabus:Introduction to the theory and practice of television journalism with specific focus on television news. Workshops will concentrate on developing news research, writing, reporting and production skills and will work cooperatively with Film and Television students, who will provide technical assistance in the form of sound and camera recording. Students will demonstrate their competence in this unit by producing original TV news segments.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit, students will have- An understanding of the theoretical development of television news. Developed critical viewing skills. Gained competency in television news production. Established research methods specific to television production. Enhanced professional and interpersonal communication skills within a team environment.
