Syllabus: | Critical discussion of the role of computer applications in training, including computer managed learning, computer managed instruction and the use of computer controlled multimedia systems. Includes surveys of user interfaces, management of computing resources, comparisons of systems available including internet. Focus on the use of courseware authoring systems and languages and research into instructional modes at all levels of training. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit, students will have- A substantial appreciation and/or understanding of the many aspects of the Internet, and their potential for meeting the needs of trainers and trainees. The ability to suggest how interactive multimedia materials might be quality assessed, should that be required, and the ability to point to sources of interactive multimedia programs relevant to work. The ability to present paper-based trained materials, transformed, so as to work from a website.The skills and requisite nouns required to undertake applied survey analysis, the ability to format results for presentation in front of a group, or via the Internet. Increased repertoire of abilities in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. |
