Syllabus:Explores the processes and techniques involved in the trading of securities and derivative products. Topics covered include - The Mechanisms of the Stock Exchange System, Recent Innovations In International Financial Markets, Electronic Trading, Technical and Fundamental Analysis, Review of Financial Market Inefficiencies and Market Microstructure Issues.
 
Unit Outcomes: The aim of this unit is to provide students with an understanding as to the nature and processes involved in trading securities on formalised exchanges. The nature of financial markets is reviewed to gain an appreciation of different market mechanisms involved. The ability to utilise a number of trading techniques (both technical and fundamental) will also be examined, along with reviews of market anomalies. Recent innovation and trends in global financial markets will also be discussed.
