Syllabus:Disease processes at a cell and tissue level, injury, repair and regeneration of specific tissues - skin, peripheral nerves, bone, muscle, articular cartilage, disorders of blood and the circulatory system, diabetes, infectious diseases of the lower limb, specimen handling and laboratory techniques in diagnosis.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will have- Described in detail the pathology of selected disease processes of body systems and organs relevant to the podiatry profession and applied this knowledge to case histories. Described the tissue handling and analysis procedures used in the diagnosis of diseases of the lower limb.
