Syllabus: | Introduction to systems of animal production. Emphasis is placed on those production systems commonly used within Australia, with modules on beef and dairy cattle, sheep and pigs. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit, students will have described the animal production systems commonly used within Australia. Outlined the factors that affect production form those animal production systems. Explained the constraints on production within those animal production systems. Described the context within the agribusiness systems into which animal production fits. Explained the importance of animal health, reproduction, genetic improvement and nutrition to animal production. Described key factors that influence profit from the animal production systems studied. |
