Syllabus:	Development of written, oral, electronic and interpersonal skills in communicating with others. Provides a vocationally orientated approach including the basis of communications and principles of usage, study skills, assignment and report writing, writing short briefs, journal articles, letters and summaries. Oral presentation in formal and informal settings. Introduction to business communication skills. Information literacy in citation, referencing and bibliography is developed.
Unit Outcomes:	On successful completion of this unit students will have- Selected an appropriate style and presented in that style, with relevant and accurate information. Interpreted and followed oral instructions. Delivered clear and concise oral and or written instructions. Presented clear concise and organised information. Cited references and made bibliographic entries consist with a given style (DARE based on Harvard). Demonstrated capacity to meet time lines. Framed researchable questions. Used a variety of media to retrieve information.
