Study strategies, assignment presentation, examination techniques. Interpersonal communication and the role of nonverbal behaviour. Transactional models and the impact of gender and cultural differences on communication. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Identified the major components of the communication process and analyse various methods of appropriate communication in the workplace. Distinguished between the changing modes of communication in the workplace and apply them appropriately to your own situation. Recognised the different strategies associated with spoken and unspoken communication. Analysed someone's non-verbal behaviour. Written an essay. Researched and evaluated written information. Identified the key components of different reporting styles. Written a report. Identified and analysed the key components of successful meetings and group dynamics. Used a problem-solving strategy in a conflict situation. Demonstrated an understanding of the negotiation process. Explained the communication strategies involved in group decision making. |
