Syllabus: | The creation of a high level of understanding of fashion and textiles as underpinned by the theory and practice of art and design. Emphasis is placed on research, conceptual development and a focused approach to the development of a resolved and coherentbody of work relevant to the profession of fashion and textiles. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Demonstrated a high level of understanding of the profession of fashion and textiles, as underpinned by the theory and practice of art and design. Developed a body of work that reflects an individual focus and clearly articulates the conceptual basis of studio practice and a high level of skill resolution towards the production of fashion and textiles. Demonstrated a mature understanding of the merchandising and and retail implications of fashionand textile design for a pre-determined market. Demonstrated a high level of innovation in relation to self-initiated and set projects. Demonstrated independent research skills in relation to their professional practice. Demonstrated an ability to make independent judgement and critical analysis of issues within the fashion industry. |
