| Syllabus: | A further extension of the understanding of fashion and textiles as underpinned by the theory and practice of art and design. Emphasis is placed on broad conceptual development and an experimental approach to the development of appropriate processes in response to set project work and ideas. Development of a critical analysis of own practice within the global context of fashion and textiles. |

| Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit, students will have demonstrated a - competent understanding of fashion and textiles as underpinned by theory and practice of art and design, a sound understanding of the process of project development, ie research, analysis, conceptual development, production, communication and evaluation as the underlying basis for the practice of fashion and textiles. Been introduced to the merchandising and retail implications of fashion and textile design for a pre-determined market. Demonstrated - further evidence of innovation in preference to conventional assumptions and thinking, appropriate research skills for this level of study and an ability to make independent judgement and critical analysis of issues within the fashionindustry. |
