Syllabus:A field camp of approximately two weeks duration, plus travelling time, whose location varies from year to year. Independent mapping of an assigned area, advanced training in structural and lithological mapping techniques, and in the compilation of a geological map and report.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will be able to - Organise and manage a field mapping project so that a selected area can be mapped at a suitable scale within the time available. Identify, describe and interpret different rock units and geological structures in the field. Produce a geological map and cross section. Prepare a concise report that summarises the mapping results and interprets field data in terms of a geological history.
