Syllabus:Planning, implementing and evaluating health promotion programs in an international context. Critical discussion and application of health promotion models and theories. Analysis of community development and community organisation(s) to improve local health needs. A review of the application of theoretical and empirical evidence. Analysis of international case studies from developed and developing countries.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit, students will have- A critical understanding of the relationship between the theory, principles and strategies of health promotion relevant to the management of the health of the community and the integrity of the environment. The skills to evaluate, synthesise and integrate the principles of health promotion to nominated case study(s) on public health issues. The skills to analyse and synthesise theoretical and empirical evidence to develop and evaluate a health promotion program.
