| Syllabus: | Introduction to critical concepts, models, approaches and procedures for planning and conducting evidence-based evaluations. Needs analysis. Evaluation as a reporting and accountability strategy. The role of evaluation and outcomes research in assessing the effectiveness of specific health interventions/ professional interventions, assessment approaches and health outcomes from a clients perspective. |

| Unit Outcomes:  | On successful completion of this unit students will be able to - Apply critical concepts, models and procedures in developing and conducting evaluations based on evidence from research. Use evaluation and evidence-based research for assessing the effectiveness of health interventions in order to meet reporting and accountability requirements. Describe and select appropriate assessment approaches for determining health outcomes and constructing and/or using outcome measures. Design a feasible and technically sound needs assessment and evaluation study that takes into account the client's perspective.  |
