Syllabus:Through individual supervision, select a research question and develop a research proposal, including electronic and print searches, selective review and critique of literature, selection of research design to fit the research paradigm and ethical considerations.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will be able to - Under the supervision of a member of academic staff, develop a research question. Critique and evaluate the literature relevant to a research question. Synthesize the current state of knowledge in a comprehensive written report. Argue the significance, importance and feasibility of a proposed research project. Select a scientifically valid research methodology (design, sampling, recruitment, collection data and analysis) and apply it to a research question. Identify the ethical and legal considerations inherent in a research question.
