Syllabus:This unit discusses population growth and regulation. Influence of population dynamics on genetic parameters. Natural changes to populations. Human interference in population change. Impacts of competition, predatory - prey relationships on community structure. Effects of fishing on natural populations. Sustainability of populations.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will have- Understood the factors and processes affecting the natural populations. Understood the relationship between population dynamics and genetic parameters. Appreciated the importance of relationships within ecosystems on populations.
