Syllabus: | An aquaculture study tour visiting marine and inland aquaculture enterprises. Inspection of a range of facilities including marine hatcheries, integrated aquafarms, marron farms, pearl culture ventures and microalgae aquaculture systems. Students will be required to participate in daily tasks on a range of aquaculture facilities. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit students will have- Described the basic functioning of several aquaculture-related facilities in terms of layout (identifying major components - grow-out, hatchery, nursery, filtration, broodstock, live food, laboratory-based tasks, etc), operation, species, maintenance, feeding, spawning, grow-out and marketing. |
