Syllabus:

Situating the evaluation project within the broader social and political context. Facilitating the evaluation of an activity within an Aboriginal setting using culturally appropriate methods. Development, integration and application of both evaluation concepts and practice frameworks. Facilitating collaboration to overcome conflict and resistance and initiate positive change.

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Identified issues and concerns in their own context and refined the evaluation focus. Collected information relevant to own evaluation project using appropriate methods for an Indigenous setting. Recorded and organised information collected in preparation for analysis. Reviewed project and implemented strategies to overcome difficulties in own role as evaluation facilitator. Extended evaluation project plan to include information collection in accordance with Indigenous Community Management and Development Practitioner (ICMDP) or Indigenous Primary Health Care Practitioner (IPHCP) principles and practices.

Unit Assessment Breakdown:

Literature review assignment (30%), Research project proposal (35%), Report (data collection and analysis 35%). Students must obtain a 50% grade in each assessment unit to achieve a Pass grade. This is by Pass/Fail Assessment
