Syllabus:Selection of project, indigenous ways of working, used for entry and negotiation for project commencement. Factors and issues, identifying signposts for successful planning. Obtaining initial and ongoing support within and external to the organisation. Project resources, procurement of human and capital resources. Forecasting of budget and personnel details with their role in planning. Project evaluation - developing criteria according to project goals and objectives.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Used indigenous ways of... and negotiation skills along with principles and skills of project planning, community development and management to plan a project. Assessed factors and issues that could impede project planning and implementation. Planned for the procurement of resources necessary for project implementation. Defined appropriate project goals, objectives, strategies, outcomes and review criteria. Defined project tasks and schedule themtaking into account internal and external factors. Negotiated an appropriate management structure for the project.
