Explanation of physiological processes including cellular processes as related to plant production. Statistical analysis related to the collection and interpretation of agronomic data.

Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Identified variables impacting on crop growth, development and on accumulation of yield. Explained constraints to plant production by diseases, pests and weeds and formulated short and long term controls. Explained plant physiological processes and cellular structure and related theses to plant production. Explained the theoretical aspects of statistical techniques such as probability, sampling, interval estimation, hypothesis testing, correlation and regression and analysis of variance. Measure the effect of statistical treatments to crops or pastures and analysed and interpreted the results. Shown the capacity to participate in a team and an ability to network.
