Syllabus:Select industrial project topic; write project proposal; search and review relevant literature; write progress report; present project progress orally. Prepare resume, covering letter and undertake an interview for a professional position. Professional engineering ethics. Engineering project management; technical report writing and technical presentations. Engineering risk assessment and decision-making. Mandatory attendance at mining engineering seminars.
 
Unit Outcomes: On completion of this unit students will have - Developed and written a project proposal, performed a literature search. Made an oral presentation. Developed skills in technical report writing, job interviews and CV preperation. Futher Developed their communication skills. Understood the basis of engineering project management, some contracts, engineering ethics and some legal issues. Acquired general mining engineering knowledge through attendance at seminars.
