Help files, add commands to generic program. Dialog Box and RC files. Alter a help file. Drawing to the screen. Clipboard and global memory. Input parameters for arrow head. MFC Application class arrow head to clipboard. MFC Menu, Dialog Box. MFC Application. Text Output. MFC Menus and dialog. Threads. Write text to screen. Dynamic link library. Threads. DLL.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will gain an understanding of the system calls for an operating system in some detail. They will be able to be able to read technical information about an operating system, have developed skills at solving technical problems using information directly from the manuals and they will have explored object oriented interfaces to an API. The operating system to be studied is MS-Windows Win-32 and MFC version 4 is the class interface to the API.
