Syllabus: | Occupational health. Patient information, treatment plans, referrals, consultations. Periodontology - aggressive and acute conditions, dressings. Restorative dentistry - further design considerations, failures, pulp therapies. Dental trauma, mouthguards.Exodontia review. Suture removal. Orthodontics - assessment, aetiology, classifications, growth modification, planning treatment, appliances, retention, complications. Clinical medicine - conditions with dental relevance. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit students will have - Demonstrated knowledge of acute and aggressive periodontal diseases and their management. Demonstrated knowledge of orthodontic problems and the role of the school dental therapist in orthodonticcare. Demonstrated knowledge of the treatment of deciduous teeth with pulpal involvement. Demonstrated knowledge of the more common medical conditions and their relevance for oral health care. Demonstrated knowledge of specific patient care procedures. ;; |
