Syllabus:Understanding of the highway pavement as a load bearing system, including the theoretical background, the technology of component materials and construction and maintenance methods. Pavement design, choice of pavement types. Materials of construction forrigid and flexible pavement. Methods of test control. Surface water drainage design. Flexible and rigid construction and design. Maintenance. Surface dressing, repairs and riding - quality assessment.
 
Unit Outcomes: The student will gain an understanding of the highway pavement as a load bearing system, including the theoretical background, the technology of component materials and construction maintenance methods.
