Syllabus: | Examination of the principles of environmental sustainability. Selected case studies are used to assess a range of approaches including State of the Environment Reports, Environmental Management Strategies, Environmental Impact Assessment, use of enviromental indicators, land capacity assessment, integrated catchment management and environmental legislation and regulation. |

Unit Outcomes: | Upon successful completion of this unit, students will have- Undertaken the applicability of notion of environmental sustainability. Understood the major theoretical approaches informing this field of study. Identifed from a series of case studies the key processes, issues and stakeholders in the context of sustainable environmental development. Demonstrated skills in the reporting and evaluating of projects in the aforesaid context. |
