Syllabus: | Formation of petroleum. Exploration and identification of petroleum bearing structures and their evaluation. Drilling operations and their control. Design, operation and control of production wells. Technologies for enhancing oil production from existing wells. Testing and evaluation of reservoirs. Reservoir management. |

Unit Outcomes: | Explain and discuss implications of petroleum processing for chemical engineers at an introductory level. Application of chemical engineering knowledge and independent skills to petroleum processing problems. Outcomes will reflect the level of the enrolled student at postgraduate level, ie certificate, diploma or masters. |
