Syllabus: | Participation in supervised clinical practical designed to assist students in meeting the Speech Pathology Association of Australian Entry Level Competency Based Occupational Standards (CBOS Units 1-4). Participation in a fluency workshop. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit students will be able to - Develop professional skills and independence in the assessment and management of individuals with communication and swallowing impairments. Develop clinical assessment and management competency with paediatric and adult clients. Apply the theoretical knowledge and skills acquired in concurrent theory units in a clinical context. These competencies are described in detail in the Competency Based Occupational Standards (CBOS) document. |

Unit Assessment Breakdown: | This unit is by pass/fail assessment. Students must attend all scheduled clinical placements. In order to pass this unit, students must achieve a pass in the following assessments - Demonstrate emerging competence in CBOS competencies (Units 1-7) for each clinical placement. Achieve a Pass mark for a case study and a clinical practice portfolio. Achieve a pass mark in the Stuttering Written Examination. |
