Syllabus:An introduction to the vocabulary, concepts and methodologies inherent to 3D animation. Lectures provide instruction on the principles and concepts of 3D computer animation. The tutorials are an opportunity for students to apply lecture content into their project work. Students are expected to spend the majority of their time working independently and largely self-supervised. The tutor is available to help guide in the problem solving process but should not be relied upon to directly fix or solve problems.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit, students will have - Demonstrated working competence in computer based 3D modelling and animation and production techniques through completed assigned tutorials and individual project work. Shown an awareness of contemporary animation and digital media production techniques through project design, production planning and media analysis. Demonstrated an appreciation in application of the dynamics of time based information construction, analysis and critique.
