Syllabus:Practice of development in the Third World. Critical analysis of the range of approaches to designing, implementing and evaluating development projects. Topics include the project cycle in planning, understanding the project environment, Logical Framework Analysis, prarticipatory and control-oriented management techniques.
 
Unit Outcomes: * Knowledge of the maint types of development projects including management techniques, funding arrangements and impacts on local communities. * An understanding of how development policy articulates with development practice. * The analytical skills to critically evaluate the range of management techniques currently applied in development practice.
