Syllabus:Pictorial presentation and information technology. Visual processing and learning. The distinctive features and conventions of visual language. Types of visual information. Developing visual interpretation skills. Image-making tools for thinking, exploring and explaining. Technological approaches for creating, manipulating and presenting visual information. Effective integration of pictorial materials with other information formats.
 
Unit Outcomes: On completion of this unit students will have- Analysed a range of illustrations from an instructional perspective. Generated original visual information that facilitates learning. Used computers to prepare and present instructional illustrations. Manipulated existing visuals to improve their instructional effectiveness. Developed ancillary materials that support visual learning.
