Syllabus:Analysis of information needs of senior citizens. Analysis of current sources of information in all formats, including computer-mediated information. Senior citizens in the community. Role of government agencies. Public library programs for seniors. Role of specialist senior citizen librarians. Future trends.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Analysed social, cultural, technological and recreational information needs of senior citizens. Investigated levels of services available to seniors in local communities. Conducted effective services to support senior citizens in the community. Developed services which offer seniors an enriched life-style.
