Syllabus: | Colonial government policies related to Indigenous Australian people and understanding the effect these have had on Indigenous Australian society. Responses by Indigenous Australian people to policies of assimilation, reconciliation, self-determination and integration. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Knowledge of the social and political thinking that has shaped colonial and post-colonial policies regarding Indigenous Australians. Developed an understanding of the various effects such policies have had on Indigenous Australian people. Become familiar with the responses by Indigenous People to policies of protection and control, assimilation, self-determination, self-management and reconciliation. |
