Syllabus: | Representation of Indigenous Australian people in public discourses and a critical analysis of how these representations have influenced Indigenous Australian identity. Examines the ways in which Indigenous people have challenged, responded and contributed to these discourses through their own world views and theoretical perspectives. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit, students will have- The ability to skilfully critically analyse the ways in which Indigenous Australians have been represented in public discourse. Developed a strong understanding of how these representations have influenced Indigenous Australian identity. A good familiarisation with Indigenous responses, challenges and contributions to these discourses through their own world views and theoretical perspectives. |
