Syllabus:Concepts, knowledge, skills and current research findings related to perioperative nursing care practice. Problem-solving approaches in the design and implementation of perioperative nursing care. Ethical and legal issues. Evidence-based plans of care incritical incident situations. Delivery of perioperative nursing interventions for patients requiring surgical intervention.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will have - Demonstrated application of knowledge of research findings relevant to the development of a perioperative nursing care project. Related legal and ethical principles to the analysis of critical incidents in perioperative nursing practice. Integrated evidence-based knowledge in the analysis of perioperative nursing care. Synthesised a conceptual framework for use in perioperative nursing practice.
