Applications to pit optimisation, mine development, production scheduling, work planning, equipment replacement and maintenance and ventilation design. Spreadsheet medelling applications. Case studies and literature study assignments. |

Unit Outcomes: | On completion of this unit the ability will be achieved to apply operations research techniques, particularly linear programming, simulation and network models to solve real-world mine planning problems adn to do this using spreadsheet modelling. |
