Syllabus: | The arts in Australian society - artistic, economic, educative, recreational, spiritual, social, functional. Study of two and three-dimensional media and techniques and appropriate activities for children. Acquisition of basic movement and dance vocabulary and response to a variety of stimuli. Building personal musical skills and a song repertoire, sound experiments and guided listening to music in Australian society. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Analysed, recorded and performed a repertoire of elementary experiences, skills and knowledge in the music and visual arts derived from past and present Australian culture. Illustrated integration within the arts and with literature, social studies and other learning areas in teaching early childhood and primary classes. Demonstrated individual confidence, creativity and communication skills in perceiving, using and appraising elements of time, sound, space, objects and energy. Designed and described an integrated arts performance suitable for primary school children. |
