| Syllabus: | Sample types and laboratory procedures. Chromosome mosaicism and prenatal diagnosis. Confined placental mosaicism, trisomic zygote rescue, uniparental disomy and imprinting. Fluorescent "in-situ" hybridisation or FISH. |

| Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit students will have - Developed an understanding of different methodologies utilised in different centres in the world and a recognition of the various merits and pitfalls of each. Developed the ability to describe invitro and in vivo results and to determine the result that truly represents the developing foetus. |
