Syllabus:Social power in professional practice, service programs and organisations. The 'values' of accountability in the development and review of knowledge and skills. Qualitative and quantitative evaluation methods - overview, single case-study and collaborative evaluation, theorising as evaluation - developing practice theory, applying new ideas and skills in practice. Integrating evaluation within practice, programs and policy.
 
Unit Outcomes: This unit offers students an opportunity to explore the broad range of practices, applications and contexts of evaluation within service organisations and programs. Emphasis will be placed on locating evaluation theorizing within practice experiences. Issues such as accountability, qualitative and quantitative methods, power, making evaluation part of everyday practices and transparency will be explored.
