Syllabus: | Purchasing and procurement is an undeveloped science largely reliant on empirical and practical examples identified in the fields and drawn from practitioners with little time other than to manage their day to day actions. From this experimental background more comprehensive and developed theories and models of purchasing management will be developed. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit, students will have - Defined purchasing and supply chain management. Identified appropriate processes and technologies for purchase documents/records. Described the role of human resources in the supply chain. Discussed contracting approaches to supply. Located appropriate purchasing research, performance and ethics information. |
