Syllabus:	Client based study program where students write their own contract in consultation with staff. A production project which requires students to design prototypes and where appropriate resource some of their processes from the industry. It is designed to establish a firm foundation for independent practice in the establishment of personal goals, consolidation of skills, and the undertaking of research necessary to realise creative ambitions. During this project the student will explore workshop management and production process appropriate to their production project.
Unit Outcomes:	On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Demonstrated a personal conceptual foundation for jewellery design practice. Demonstrated an appropriate level of independent judgement, imagination and commitment for the successful initiation and progress of a negotiated study program. Selected and developed skills, strategies and imaginative ideas, for the conceptualisation and realisation of objects. Used independent exploratory processes as a means of investigating and progressing ideas. Demonstrated independent research skills as a means of investigating materials and processes, where appropriate source expertise in the community. Advanced the means of documenting ideas and the effectiveness of presentation. Demonstrated critical thinking and the ability to present sound arguments for ideas - written and oral. Demonstrated experience of craft practice involving industry networking. Demonstrated a sound understanding and knowledge of contemporary practice in jewellery design.
