Syllabus:Introduction to palliative care nursing and aims to consolidate knowledge for those who are already practising within a palliative care setting.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will have - Critically analysed and discussed the philosophy and practice of palliative care. Applied strategies for managing and controlling the pain and the distressing symptoms in patients with terminal illness. Demonstrated effective management of the needs of the patient and his/her family in coping with dying. Critically discussed the role and responsibilities of the nurse and other team members in palliative care.
