Syllabus:Practical development of skills in the use of portable video production equipment and its application in a broadcast environment. Includes work on projects development, on news, current affairs and individual topics in association with broadcast Journalism students.
 
Unit Outcomes: On completion of this unit students will- Understand the basic processes of broadcast television production, with a particular emphasis on multi-cam, studio based production. Be able to carry out the various roles and functions associated with multi-camera, studio based production. Understand the interface between location and studio program content and be able to incorporate both in productions. Understand the roles of, and relationships between key elements of the broadcast industry such as journalism/reporters and production crews, and understand the role of the latter in the news and current affairs production. Be able to make informed decisions in relation to stylistic, technical and economic aspects of productions on which they occupy roles.Have a knowledge of the studio production techniques used in various genres of television programs.
