Syllabus:	Designed to provide the english requirement for undergraduate study at Curtin. English improvement for entry into Communication Skills (Academic Purposes) 112 or an equivalent. Identifcation of students' specific needs in both spoken and written English.Step-by-step introduction to library research, mechanics of writing, argument structure, report writing and oral presentation.
Unit Outcomes:	On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Planned and organised ideas effectively in writing in order to develop a sound argument. Constructed complete, clear and precise sentences and paragraphs. Used language and tone appropriate to a given aim and audience. Edited and revised written work effectively, and presented it in a professional manner. Delivered an effective oral presentation. Demonstrated an awareness of the need for academic honesty.
